Scope

We focus on ocean-facing U.S. East Coast beaches, starting with Long Beach and Long Island. Our guides and surf journal offer practical planning methods and original editorial stories tailored to your selected coast. They are not firsthand trip reports, professional forecasts, or endorsements by the camera owners. A publication date is not a claim about present surf conditions.

Sources and original work

Local rules and permit information link to the municipality or park responsible for them. Weather, buoy and tide explanations link to NOAA and the National Weather Service. Our own contribution is organizing those sources around a decision: which beach, what time, what can be observed, and what still needs checking.

Changing fees, seasonal schedules and availability stay on their official source pages. Guide review dates describe when references were checked, not a promise that every rule remains unchanged. Examples labeled hypothetical are illustrations, not reports of present conditions.

Camera selection

A camera needs an identifiable beach and a credited source. We use standard public players with their controls and branding. A source page being reachable, a preview loading, a player being ready and a recent camera frame are different checks. We do not combine them into a misleading “live verified” badge.

Known unavailable feeds are paused with a visible notice and a retained operator link. Client player errors are displayed during your visit. We do not bypass paywalls, scrape restricted streams, remove provider advertising or claim ownership of footage. Provider links without a usable preview are separated from the wall.

Corrections and commercial links

Use Contact & corrections to send the page, the problem and the source for a correction. Paid placements, when configured, are labeled Sponsored. Affiliate links are labeled at the point of use. Payment does not establish that a beach is suitable for you.
