Preferences and plans on your device

Saved cameras, home-coast preferences and surf-planner entries use this browser’s local storage. There is no account or SurfersInfo database for these features. Plan text is not sent to us. The copy buttons use your clipboard only when you click them. Avoid private information on a shared device.

Camera previews and playback

YouTube image requests send normal connection data, including IP address and browser information, to YouTube’s image servers. Requests repeat for visible images every minute while automatic refresh is enabled and the tab is visible. You can turn refresh off above the grid.

Opening a camera loads the YouTube player and player API. The player uses the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain; that does not make playback anonymous. The provider may process playback data and display its own advertising, branding and links. See Google’s privacy policy.

Contact messages

When you choose Send message, the name and reply email you optionally provide, your topic, camera selection and message are sent through our server to FormSubmit and then to the site owner’s inbox. The receiving address is held privately on the server and is not included in the public page or browser requests. The owner uses messages to respond to inquiries, corrections and sponsorship requests. Messages are not published on the site.

FormSubmit says it retains submission archives for 30 days. The owner’s mailbox may retain correspondence after delivery. See FormSubmit’s privacy policy and retention documentation. Use this contact form to request deletion of your correspondence. Do not include sensitive information.

To limit spam, the server keeps short-lived submission tokens and a keyed, time-limited digest of connection information with an attempt count. It does not store message bodies in the website database. The hosting platform and email provider process operational connection data. External camera and information pages have their own policies.

Advertising, analytics and hosting

SurfersInfo uses Google AdSense to request advertising, subject to Google approving this website and account. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, unique identifiers, IP addresses and browser/device information to serve, personalize and measure ads, limit repeated ads and prevent fraud. Google may use information from visits to this and other websites. See How Google uses information for advertising and Google ad preferences.

Google’s consent message is configured for visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, with consent, do not consent and manage-options choices. Eligible visitors can revisit their choice using the Privacy and cookie settings link supplied by Google. A Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link is configured for supported US states. Your choices affect the ads Google can serve; choosing limited or non-personalized advertising does not make requests anonymous. Message availability depends on Google loading successfully and your region.

Automated crawler diagnostics

For site reliability, requests identifying themselves as Google advertising crawlers may be checked against Google’s published crawler IP ranges. We keep private aggregate request counts, a fixed page category, response status, time and verification result for up to 30 days, with expired records removed on the next matching request. These records contain no raw IP addresses, full browser identifiers, cookies, query strings or reader profiles. Connection details are used temporarily to check the request source. Hosting-level requests blocked before reaching our application are not included.

SurfersInfo visitor analytics

Starting October 15, 2026, we use first-party, cookieless analytics to learn which pages help readers and how they find the site. When a page becomes visible, it sends its public page path and a referrer origin to our own server. We keep daily page-view totals, approximate daily visitor totals, popular-page totals and broad referral categories. We do not store full referrer URLs, search terms, query strings, form messages, surf-planner notes or precise location in these analytics records.

To estimate repeat visits within one day, our server briefly processes the connection IP address and browser user-agent with a secret and the reporting date to create a one-way keyed identifier. Raw IP addresses and user-agent strings are not stored in the analytics database. The identifier changes every day, is not placed on your device, and cannot be used by these reports to follow you across days. The count is an estimate: shared connections can merge readers; changed browsers or connections can count someone again.

Deduplication identifiers expire after 48 hours and are removed when the next analytics request runs. Daily aggregate totals are retained for up to 366 reporting days, with expired rows removed on the next analytics request. Reports use America/New_York time and are available only through the owner's authorized Sites tools. Our hosting provider processes requests under its own operational policies.

SurfersInfo respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for this measurement. You can also opt out below; only that preference is saved in this browser's local storage. We do not set analytics cookies or persistent visitor IDs. Automated checks and opted-out or blocked browsers are excluded where detectable, so these counts are not a verified count of people.

Labeled sponsor links may appear if configured. Affiliate destinations may track referrals after a click. Google advertising and camera-provider processing are separate from SurfersInfo analytics and remain subject to the choices described above. We do not collect payments or newsletter subscriptions.
